ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECT MANAGER

Edmonton, AB

 

As an Environmental Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to be involved in remediation, reclamation and monitoring projects for oil and gas facilities, landfills, industrial land and defense sites.  Our technical services include soil, groundwater and vegetation assessments, and remedial designs for contaminated sites.  Reporting to the Manager, Edmonton and as part of diverse team, you will work on projects largely centered in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and the Northern Canadian Territories.

 

This senior role will give you the opportunity to

  • manage and execute projects including logistics, budget and schedule management
  • prepare and complete soil monitoring/management programs and groundwater monitoring programs, including soil surveys for wastewater treatment, baseline soils survey and irrigation assessments
  • complete Phase 1, 2 and 3 ESA, remediation and reclamation programs
  • complete detailed site assessments and write environmental site assessment reports
  • supervise contractors
  • prepare cost estimations and tracking
  • logging soil boreholes
  • perform liability assessments
  • write proposals and be involved in business development
  • develop and maintain key client relationships
  • mentor and train junior employees

If you have a Bachelor's degree in Soil Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering, are registered or able to register with AIA, APEGGA or ASET, and have a minimum of 5 - 10 years experience in site assessment, remediation and reclamation in the oil and gas industry in Canada, ideally in Alberta, we want to hear from you!

  • experience in the Phase 1, 2 and 3 site assessment and reclamation process and familiarity with the relevant site assessment regulations and guidelines for Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan
  • superior project management and organizational skills
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • strong business acumen and ability to manage budgets and write winning proposals
  • ability to proactively grow our business by identifying opportunities and translating these to new projects
  • energy and passion for developing and servicing world class mining environmental engineering projects
  • strong initiative, motivation and drive toward long-term success
  • proven leadership abilities in building successful relationships with clients as well as managing, growing, and sustaining project teams
  • completion of project management courses
  • experience with gINT, Surfer and AutoCAD software
  • ability to travel domestically and internationally, and to remote work sites
