SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST/ENGINEER,
MINING ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP

Klohn Crippen Berger Ltd. (KCB) requires a Senior Environmental Scientist/Engineer to support the continued expansion of our environmental consulting services. We have world class projects underway in the Sudbury area, Northern Ontario and overseas that require the additional support of an experienced industry professional. We are looking for a leader with a strong commitment to building technical excellence in a group of talented Environmental Scientists, and assisting in the expansion of environmental group through business development.

This senior role will give you the opportunity to:

• lead technical teams in your related area of expertise (e.g. fisheries, terrestrial biology, ecology, permitting, engineering, geochemistry, etc.) to execute and deliver projects for clients in the mining industry
• manage large multi-disciplinary projects including baseline studies, impact assessments, and closure plans
• assist in the ongoing development of the Sudbury environmental group through marketing, recruiting, business development, and a commitment to technical excellence
• support the technical development of a group of Environmental Scientists
• sustain client relationships and develop new business
• join a dynamic company of motivated and hardworking professionals committed to delivering high quality engineering and environmental services
• travel within Canada and internationally as well as to remote areas

If you have a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Aquatic or Terrestrial Biology/Ecology or related field, are registered or able to register as a Professional in Ontario, and have at least 10 years relevant environmental experience in mining, mineral exploration and environmental impact assessments, we want to hear from you.

• knowledge and experience with environmental impact assessments, environmental effects monitoring, ecological monitoring, closure planning, and Provincial, Federal and/or international permitting processes
• extensive experience in Ontario and sound working knowledge of Provincial and Federal Environmental Legislation
• proven project management skills and the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals
• demonstrated report writing skills
• strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
• strong initiative, motivation and drive toward long-term success
• energy and passion for developing and servicing world-class mining environmental engineering projects
• excellent verbal and written English communication skills (other languages, especially French or Spanish, an asset)
• ability to work flexible hours as determined by project requirements
