Klohn Crippen Berger was commissioned to evaluate the stability of a slide area and its surroundings. Originally created in 1976, measures had been taken to reduce the potential for slope failure in this residential area, but ground movement in 1995 was cause for reconsideration. Following a comprehensive slope stability study and consultation with stakeholders, a depressurization program was initiated to improve slope stability. Several epressurization wells and
monitoring wells were installed and lawn and golf course irrigation controls were implemented. The depressurization program has reduced piezometric levels such that stability targets are being met.
Slope Stability Studies:
- Updates of geologic, hydrologic and hydrogeologic conceptual models
- Assessment of depressurization system performance and recommendations for improvement
- Evaluations of slope stability conditions and recommendations for slope stability risk management
