Queensland Mining Awards
KCB Australia won the McLanahan Environment Award at the 2020 Queensland Mining Awards, for the Isaac River Upstream Drop Structure. The Isaac River Diversion’s existing drop structure failed repeatedly under flood conditions. KCB Australia’s modelling of the new design predicts enhanced energy dissipation, improved flow stability and prevention of scour upstream. A special thanks to the Bowen Basin Mining Club and Queensland Resources Council for hosting a fantastic evening. We would also like to thank BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance Pty Limited for giving us the opportunity to work on a unique and challenging project. A big congratulations to the project team.
