“While at UBC, I decided to do a continuous 16-month co-op term with KCB. Since I was here for a long term, I was given progressively more responsibilities each time I went on site. I worked mostly in the field doing construction monitoring and lab work. In the office, I worked with drafters on producing design and construction drawings and did 2D modelling on flows in the river to study potential areas where erosion may occur. I also conducted dam break analysis predicting the flood plain and water levels downstream if the dam fails. After I graduated, I decided to return to KCB because I loved the people here. My co-op experience was one of the best and now I’m happy to be a part of a company where I feel challenged and continue to learn more each day.”
