Mines and Technology will take place November 26-29, 2018 at the Business Design Centre in London, UK. Klohn Crippen Berger is proud to be one of the conference’s Silver Sponsors.
One of the speakers at the conference is Dr. Joseph Quinn, P.Geo., Senior Engineering Geologist and Associate at KCB. His presentation will be about “Sustainable practices in tailings dam design: management of liquefaction risk throughout operations and closure”.
Joseph Quinn is an engineering geologist who holds a Ph.D. from the University of Leeds in England. His academic background involved research into the stability of coastal soil slopes. This research involved seepage analysis, traditional slope stability analysis and advanced numerical modelling. His professional project experience includes design and monitoring of tailings embankments/dykes, design of mining dams and stability reviews for water retention dams, as well as slope stability assessment, advanced 2D and 3D numerical modelling, seismic hazard analysis, seepage analysis, site investigation, foundation design and mine site remediation.
Dr. Quinn will be presenting on November 29th at 11:45 am.
