Bill Chin Inducted as a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada

Bill Chin, P.Eng., Senior Geotechnical Engineer and Principal at Klohn Crippen Berger, was officially inducted as a Fellow of the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC) at the EIC Awards Gala on April 28.

Bill is a geotechnical engineer with over 35 years of experience in the investigation, design, construction and safety evaluations of major earthfill dams for water and tailings storage. He has contributed extensively to the design and safe operation of tailings storage facilities in the Alberta oil sands and has been a senior reviewer of these facilities in the Fort McMurray area. He is the Principal Geotechnical Engineer providing assistance to Alberta Environment and Parks. In addition, Bill has been an active volunteer with the Canadian Dam Association (CDA), serving as a member of the organizing committee for the 2014 CDA conference and now as chair of the organizing committee for CDA 2019.
