KCB-Hatch team awarded BC Hydro Water Retention and Conveyance Structures Program

December 10, 2015

KCB, together with our subconsultant Hatch Energy, has been awarded a long-term (until 2024) Master Services Agreement to work with BC Hydro providing engineering services for BC Hydro’s Water Retention and Conveyance Structures (WRCS) program. The WRCS program comprises dam safety projects that may include dams, spillways, low level outlet structures, penstocks, canals, tunnels, gates, valves and M+E subsystems, controls and instrumentation projects at more than 40 BC Hydro dam sites in the province. The project services include assessments, design, procurement (for project delivery methods that may include Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build or EPCM) and construction monitoring services. The KCB-Hatch team (KCB = lead with 67% and Hatch = sub with 33%) will be providing a wide range of engineering services which are estimated to require more than 20 full-time engineers each year. The team has already begun work on the first projects under the WRCS program which are the John Hart, Strathcona and Puntledge projects, all on Vancouver Island.
