Carlos is a Civil Engineer with 15 years of experience in municipal engineering, mine environment, tailings management and water resource projects in Canada and internationally. A significant component of his graduate studies and experience includes the analysis and modeling of water resources structures as well as municipal systems. Since joining Klohn Crippen Berger in 2008, Carlos has been involved in modeling and design of water conveyance and retention structures, storm water management facilities, floodplain delineation, site-wide water balances, dam breach and inundation assessments, geotechnical analysis, geotechnical investigations and in situ testing, and dam safety inspections and reviews for the mining sector.

Carlos manages multi-disciplinary design teams, and technically specializes in tailings planning and staging, hydrotechnical design, water balance assessments and dam breach and inundation assessments.

Education

Carlos has a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering from Pontifical Bolivarian University of Bucaramanga in Colombia and a M.A.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto. He is registered with the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
