Chris joined KCB’s Brisbane office in 2004, and has developed a strong professional reputation with international mining clients and government agencies. He became an Associate in 2009 and was promoted to Principal in 2020. Chris is also the company’s Director of Business Development & Marketing.

His experience includes projects across Australia and internationally, related to the design and implementation of groundwater and surface water management systems at mine sites and for oil and gas projects. Chris is a sought after technical reviewer for groundwater modelling, mine water and waste rock assessment and planning for mine closure projects.

Known for his leadership skills, Chris opened KCB’s office in Perth, Western Australia in 2011 and successfully managed the team until 2014 before returning to Brisbane.

Key Projects

Chris’ key projects include a variety of groundwater impact assessments for the regulatory approval of resource developments (metalliferous, coal and coal seam gas projects) in Australia, groundwater assessments related to the stability and seepage characterization of mine waste facilities at a variety of international sites, mine water management for a number of operational and closed (legacy) international sites, and closure planning for mines in Australia and the Americas.

Education

Chris has a B.A.Sc. in Geology from Queensland University of Technology and is a Registered Professional Geoscientist with the Australia Institute of Geoscientist. He is a member of the International Association of Hydrogeologists and the International Mine Water Association.
