Mary-Jane (MJ) joined KCB in 2011 in the Mining Environmental Group (MEG) in Vancouver, and became an Associate in 2015. Since then, she has advanced her technical and management career to become a trusted advisor to mining clients and the leader of MEG’s North American operation. MJ was promoted to Principal in 2020.

Specializing in stormwater management, MJ’s experience in mining projects includes the review and assessment of surface water at mine sites, the design and construction support of water management structures, and the predictive modelling of storm events and design of stormwater infrastructure. MJ has worked on projects across North and South America, and Australia.

Key Projects

MJ’s key projects include the award-winning Greens Creek Mine in Alaska, the Borden Lake Gold project in Ontario, and the Quintette mine restart, Bonanza Ledge permitting, and the Site C Clean Energy projects in British Columbia.

Education

MJ has a B.Eng. in Civil Engineering from Newcastle University, New South Wales, Australia and an MBA from Simon Fraser University, British Columbia, Canada. She is a professional engineer in British Columbia and a certified practicing engineer from the Institute of Engineers, Australia.

MJ rides a Harley-Davidson Sportster 883, but she desperately wants a Fat Boy!
