Warren joined KCB’s Calgary office in 2005 from South Africa, where he helped lead the company’s groundwater-related practice in the oil sands sector of northern Alberta. He became an Associate in 2008 and was promoted to Principal in 2017. Following a stint at our Vancouver office, he moved to Perth, Western Australia to manage the office there.

Warren’s experience includes projects across South Africa, Australia and internationally, related to water management in the mining, infrastructure, water resources, and oil and gas sectors. He started as an underground mine geologist in the gold mines of South Africa, later focusing on groundwater and surface water management of mining operations at several coal mines. His consulting experience includes design and operations support for pit and aquifer depressurization systems, seepage interception systems and groundwater monitoring networks.

Key Projects

Known for managing multi-disciplinary teams for studies and design projects, Warren’s key projects include the Coalspur Mine in Alberta, the Resolution Copper project in Arizona and the Highland Valley Copper Mine in British Columbia.

Education

Warren has a B.Sc. in Geology/Hydrogeology from the University of Port Elizabeth in South Africa. He is a registered professional geoscientist in Alberta, and a member of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum and the National Groundwater Association.
